DSDYF Fundraising Coffee Morning

Wednesday 11th April 2012 @ Scholars Townhouse Hotel

The Des Smyth Drogheda Youth Foundation will hold a fundraising coffee morning at Scholars Townhouse Hotel on Wednesday 11th April and all are invited to attend.

Anna Carlos, one of the Directors of the Foundation explained “We are delighted to invite the people of Drogheda and surrounding areas to join us for this coffee morning. We are fundraising to help ensure that young people across our community have access to sports training, coaching and equipment for the coming summer season.

She continued “Our Foundation believes that sport teaches young people discipline, respect and to work in teams. It teaches them the importance of caring for their physical and mental health. But more than that, sport makes you feel good ... whether it’s the laughter and camaraderie of being part of a team or the satisfaction of challenging yourself to achieve, sport feels good. That is why we believe that it is so important to ensure that local kids have access to sporting facilities, equipment and encouragement.

The event will take place in Scholars Townhouse Hotel, King Street, Drogheda from 11am to 2pm on Wednesday 11th April. The Des Smyth Drogheda Youth Foundation would like to thank Martin and Patricia McGowan of Scholars Townhouse Hotel who are kindly sponsoring this event, thus ensuring that all funds collected go directly to this registered charity.

Speaking about the Foundation, local sporting legend Des Smyth explained “I am very proud to be patron of the Des Smyth Drogheda Youth Foundation. Through our work here locally I can see real benefits accruing to our young people and the communities in which they live. I am incredibly grateful to all those who support our work and help to make it possible.
